An Idea Worth Spreading
I’m thinking about breaking up with TED.com. Their mission of “ideas worth spreading” has a caveat lately that comes with a price tag. I don’t want to become a member, which they’ve been hounding me to do for months. And my organization isn’t about to plunk down the exorbitant amount of money they’re asking for in order to license their content for use in the corporate classroom (I don’t remember the exact price but it was well beyond prohibitive.) Plus they just did this big feature on a lousy billionaire whose name rhymes with “tusk” and who I can’t stand. 🤮
I feel like their words say they love the open and free exchange of ideas, but their actions say we are living in a material world, and TED is a material girl. 💎💎💎🤔
